WCAYSA is working to raise $10,000 through money donated to WCAYSA and profits from sales to improve the library for the Cadets who are at the Academy for 5.5 months.  Access to books for these youth is through the WINGCA library.  Access to success in school for the Cadets is through reading.  It is reading that builds the skill of concentration, a skill that is deficient in many of the Cadets but a necessary skill to pass tests and earn a credential.

Once we raise the funds, the funds will be used to upgrade the educational and reference sections with current and timely books for the Cadets, replace worn books and purchase new titles to interest and encourage our Cadets to read, and to procure new shelving.  A library of books for information, resources and entertainment is essential for the success of the Cadets while at WINGCA and as a model for becoming a successful, responsible citizen when they leave the Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Academy.
